Customer
The customer agrees to comply with these terms when purchasing, renting, or booking services through SMA Oy's online services.


Booking Terms

These terms apply to rental and bookable products and services. Collectively, these are referred to as the "destination."


Making a Reservation

The customer is responsible for reviewing the description of the reservation item(s) and instructions, as well as the terms related to the reservation.

A reservation made by the customer is binding once the order/payment confirmation has been sent to the customer's provided email address.

The customer must pay for the reservation using the chosen payment method, following the terms associated with that method.

The reservation system will send the order/payment confirmation to the email address provided by the customer.

SMA Oy is not responsible for a failed reservation, and the customer must promptly contact SMA Oy to rectify the situation. SMA Oy does not guarantee that the destination will still be available in this case.


Cancellations and Changes

The cancellation date is the day when SMA Oy receives notice of the cancellation. The customer is responsible for ensuring the cancellation is sent on time. Please see the general cancellation terms.

If the customer cancels their reservation:

  • If there are less than 7 days until the start of the reservation, the full booking price will be charged.

  • If there are fewer than 30 days but at least 7 days until the start of the reservation, 50% of the booking price will be charged.

  • If there are 30 days or more until the start of the reservation, only the delivery costs will be charged. The delivery cost is 30 € (including VAT of 25.5%).

Owner’s Right to Cancel a Booking:

In the case of force majeure, SMA Oy may terminate the lease agreement. The termination will be notified without delay to the client who leased the destination.

In this case, the client has the right to be reimbursed for the entire rent they have paid.

Any costs incurred by the customer as a result of the termination of the lease due to force majeure will not be reimbursed.


Damage Compensation

The client is responsible for compensating SMA Oy for any damage caused to the destination. The client is also responsible for any damage caused by other individuals visiting the destination during the booking.

SMA Oy will not reimburse any damages or costs to the client caused by natural elements, such as insects, animals, frost heaving, or unforeseen weather conditions.


Complaints

Any complaints must be made as soon as possible when problems arise.

If a satisfactory solution cannot be reached or there are claims for refunds, the complaint should be sent in writing within one month from the end of the rental period.

SMA Oy will make an effort to address the complaint as soon as possible, but within a maximum of one month.

If the client and SMA Oy cannot reach an agreement, the client may refer the disagreement to the Consumer Disputes Board for resolution.


Transaction Conditions

Establishing the Agreement

The binding purchase agreement will be effective when the booking has been confirmed (booking confirmation/payment confirmation). The booking confirmation/payment confirmation will be sent to the client via email.


Payment Conditions

SMA Oy uses reliable and secure payment transfer operators for their services.

SMA Oy does not store bank account or credit card details at any point.

The client agrees to comply with the conditions of the payment option they have chosen to use.


Payment via SMA Oy Invoice (for Companies and Organizations)

The invoice is only intended for companies and organizations.

The invoice is due on or before the due date indicated on the invoice.

If the invoice for the booked product or service is not paid by the due date, the booking will be canceled, and the destination will be returned to availability.


Cancellation Conditions

Paytrail Oyj (business ID: 2122839-7) is the payment transfer operator and service provider. Paytrail Oyj will appear as the payment recipient on the credit card statement and will transfer the payment to the seller. Paytrail Oyj is licensed to operate as a payment institution.

If the payment transaction is not successfully completed at the time of booking, SMA Oy will not process the booking.


General Conditions

  • All prices displayed in the online service include value-added tax.

  • Dynamic pricing applies to lodging services. Prices may vary depending on the time of booking and can change monthly, weekly, or daily.

  • Products are sold to private individuals of legal age and to business clients.

  • We reserve the right to change prices.

  • The client is responsible for providing accurate information.

  • SMA Oy has the right to use and release registered address information for direct mail, distance sales, and other advertising purposes, as well as for market and opinion surveys, unless explicitly prohibited by the client. The prohibition can be communicated to the contact information provided in these terms.

  • We reserve the right to change our transaction conditions. Before booking, the client must familiarize themselves with the terms and conditions in effect at that time.

  • Our store offers products from multiple sellers, which can be collected in one shopping cart and paid for in a single transaction using credit card, web bank, or invoice. Each seller operates independently, and product bookings and payments are processed directly between the client and the seller.


Invoicing Conditions

Advance Information:
This will be notified and agreed with the client through a separate email, or via a tender, booking, or a comparable notification in media administered by the service provider (e.g., website, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram). It will include a description of the activity content, routes, and their levels of difficulty.

It will also define:

  • Time and duration

  • Place

  • Number of participants

  • Female/male distribution and approximate age distribution

  • Guiding language

  • Any accessibility restrictions

Prices:
Will be defined according to the contents specified separately in the booking: program, services such as meeting, dining, and sauna.

Price Includes:
Nature and wilderness guide services, the program itself and equipment, planning and arrangements, and any other separately booked and mentioned content.

Payment Condition:
Net 7 days.

Validity and Payment:
The tender is valid for 7 days from the date it is given, unless otherwise agreed. The tender must be confirmed by email no later than 14 days before the event date. The number of participants must be confirmed at least one week before the event.

The above terms apply to events or products for individual groups, such as companies or organizations, where invoicing has been agreed to be either paper or electronic invoicing, unless the client uses the payment gateway service in the web store.

For private individuals, payment for events/products must be made using the payment gateway at the time of booking, or by the latest before the event begins. Specific payment instructions will be given for each product/event.

We reserve the right to make changes to the program due to safety reasons or schedule changes beyond the service provider's control.


Liability and Insurance

The service provider's liability insurance applies once direct activities commence, starting with the reception of the group, and ends when the direct activities conclude. Participation in all activities is voluntary. If the event involves the use of facilities or services (e.g., dining, meeting, or sauna) provided by third parties not managed by the service provider, the third party holds liability for those parts.

Insurances:
Ensure your group has valid accident insurance that covers the event's content, duration, and transportation.

Note:
We reserve the right to deny participation to intoxicated individuals or those using intoxicating substances during activities, for safety reasons. Canoeing requires zero tolerance for intoxication.
